Google Booksは便利なツールを今朝（米国時間9/6）リリースした。このツールによって、著作権が消滅している書籍の内容の一部を、外部サイトや「Google Notebook」に直接貼付けられるようになった。
上記画像の切り抜きを以下に貼付けてみた。形式は、画像かテキストかを選択できるようになっている（両方の形式を以下で見てもらいたい）。ブロガーにとっては、「ある本の一説についてディスカッションしたい」と思うようなときには便利だろう。もっとも、（該当箇所の）スクリーンショットを撮影し、アップロードすることでも全く同じ効果が得られるが。画像として貼付けたものには、オリジナルの出所にリンクバックする機能が何らかの理由で欠けている。テキストとして貼付けたものにはリンクがあるが、フォーマット面でとても優れているとは言えない。
